Have you tried using CSS?

li {margin-top: 1em}


BTW, when starting a new thread, please use a new, clean email. Do not
simply hit reply on a previous post and just change the Subject line.
This causes your post to get threaded inside the previous topic,
instead of actually starting a new thread (for people who use threaded
email programs.)
