not sure if you can do it. the browser will always ask if you want to
run it from its location or to save it. unless there is something in the
browser preferances that you can change so it will always run the
programe without asking. the down side to that is.. will you need to do
it to all the computers on the intranet? what if someone wants to
download an .exe from the net? - then they will have to change the
settings which can be a hassle also will the person know how to change
the settings?

it may be possible to force the browser to run the .exe file from the
location but not with HTML, javascript etc.... if you could force the
browser to run the programe then its an obvious security hole. someone
could puta virus on the net and force the person to run the .exe file.

but, there may be a way to set it up from the server end maybe? but, its
still a security risk so servers may be setup so you cant do it because
of the internet.
