Okay, here's a general question for those of you who enjoy solving
puzzles:
I do some web work for a department on my local university campus
where the server where their web files are hosted is run and
maintained by some folks with little or no computer background or
expierience prior to their current job. I do not have access to a CGI
bin for using perl/cgi scripts, and nothing like PHP is installed. I
basically have HTML and Javascript (and they're not happy about
Javascript) as my possible medium to solve all web problems. The site
I'm working on needs to have "registration forms" where someone sends
in data entered in a form. The problem is, how do I set up a reliable
system with no CGI scripting to process that form? Emailing the form
is not reliable enough to work and using third party services (other
servers that host scripts for free or for ads) has not worked either
for several reasons.
I would like to have something set up that's not dependent on another
server but that can reliable send form information to an email address
that will work for all visitors.
Any ideas/thoughts?
