I ran Add/Remove Programs from the Settings folder, then chose Internet
Explorer, then "Repair Internet Explorer". After rebooting, everything =
was
back to normal (he said hopefully).

Am I wrong to think these browsers/companies are acting like spoiled
children?

nor Outlook are at fault here.

I'll investigate this some more...
