Yeah, my age is showing. The codes I gave will work on Windows systems, just
like holding the ALT key down and pressing 0150 on the keypad will drop the
en dash into a Word doc. But they won't work, it seems, on Macs. Thanks for
the corrections.

No, that's correct. Your entities are part of Unicode; the entities
Chuck
Evans gave are undefined, both under Unicode and under ISO-8859.

(In theory, all browsers that are compatible with HTML 4.0 or later can
render Unicode characters, though in practice your mileage may vary. But
doesn't it always.)
