Cross-Browser 'reload', 'back' & 'forward' scripts

The subject line should say it all. I have looked through my small (but
growing) Javascript library to find scripts that work in fourth
generation browsers which will allow the user to issue reload, forward
and back commands. I understand there are ways to do this either by
"button" (apparently akin to forms?) and javascript. I have no preference
for either. But I would like to have one script which works in both NN
4.x and IE 4.x.
