(This comment is not directed at any one list poster, but to the list in
general. Just a pre-emptive strike is all. Not following anything in
particular. But I can see the signs on the horizon of another flame war).
This thread is in danger of becoming another tedious and futile "my
software's better than yours" flame war that doesn't change anyone's opinion
and doesn't enlighten anyone. Did anyone ever change their minds based on
the idiotic "Mac-is-better-than-PC" war that raged a while back?
The discussion of the relative merits of different web tools is very useful
to web developers professional and amateur, so lets keep the
information:noise ratio high shall we? (Yes I know that is very
schoolmasterish, but I'm going to be 50 in 3 weeks and I figure I'm entitled
at long last to talk like that)
I frankly couldn't care less for the futures of Dreamweaver and Homesite,
except that I truly want all the tools at my disposal to get better and more
efficient over time. I'm a professional web developer and I'm interested in
anything that will help me produce better web sites faster.
If you're going to rant and shout because someone has an opinion different
to yours about their development software, how about taking it to
alt.teen.childish.spats and leave us here to discuss issues calmly and
rationally.
Please folks?
Cheers,
Mike Kear
