The standard is RFC 822. It has been in effect for many years, in fact
"ARPANET" is in its title.

Like many things, just do it right, and you'll be all set. <g>

All Guild lists include a Sender: header, with a unique (to the list)
value. Just filter on that line (that is what it is there for) and you'll
be all set. If memory serves me right, this is quite extensively described
in the Guild FAQ files, with detailed examples for a variety of email clients.

ps. Regarding return-receipt headers... why not just configure your mail
client to ignore them... and if your mail client doesn't do what you want,
either get one that does, or learn to live with it? It is _your_ email
client. 

Besides, if you must whine, private email to the offenders would seem more
appropriate, since quite possibly they are clueless that they are doing so,
ergo a non-specific public whine is quite likely without impact.
