You people are pretty knowledgeable about e-commerce sites, so perhaps you
can give me some ideas here .....
My usage stats tell me I have a user who comes to my site every day and
stays connected for long periods. Usually 8-9 hours (once it was 14 hours).
It's not in the pay part of the site, just the default.htm home page, and
I'm not sure I can find a rational explanation for it at the moment.
The user is in Africa, and the site (www.choice.com.au) is directed at
Australians, being an Australian Consumer Rights organisation. There's no
apparent attack or attempt at hacking into the pay areas of the site, and
the user doesn't go to other pages - just the main home page. I really
can't see what is happening here.
I don't want to put a block on this user's ip address unless I can see
there's something underhanded going on.
And in any case, how can it be that this user shows as being connected all
that time? How come it doesnt time out?
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers,
Mike Kear
