Quite so!  And also, the context is important.  Some words can be highly 
offensive in some contexts, and complimentary in others.

For example, in Australia, the word "bastard" is used as BOTH an insult and 
also as a compliment. (Very confusing to foreign tourists!!)

Just about the highest compliment a man can pay his mate is to say "yer a 
stupid bastard". And if said with a smile on his face and a friendly tone of 
voice, its acceptable vernacular in almost all company (with the possible 
exception of the Queen).  But without the accompanying manner, its an insult 
worthy of agressive counter-reaction.

How would such a 'bad word' filter handle that?
