INPUT SIZE=20 STYLE="width: 100px"

where the SIZE is for Netscape and the STYLE for Explorer. Fiddle around 
with them until you get a nice result.

As to font control, you can always put FONT tags around the form fields. 
Generally it works even in NN4.
