Yes, yes and yes.
The JavaScript method is mainly for use with mouseovers: to prevent the user
from having to wait between the mousing over and the changing of the image.
If you use the HTML method, this won't work correctly since the images will
be merely in the cache, not in the JavaScript in the page.
So for mouseovers use JavaScript, for anything else you can use the HTML
method.
