Free web based e-mail

Dear Friends,

For the past couple of days i have been on the hunt for a web based e-mail system for my site (so that i can access mail even if i do not have access to outlook or netscape plus send mails from (at)SunMatrix.com and not (at)hotmail.com).

I have come across FREE services like mailbox.com, everyone.net etc. But all these require MX record changes to be made. Plus my domain e-mail system will then become public. What i would like to know is that, is there a easier and more private way?? 

Is there any secure web based e-mail system available where i could put my e-mail address (at)SunMatrix.com (without changing my MX records) to send and recieve???? 

Secondly if there is no other way then which free service is better i.e. Everyone.net or mailbox.com????
