I've been designing for about 12 years... 5 years for
the internet.. and I haven't really seen a difference
in the quality of graphics that each platform
"produces". What I mean is, if you're comfortable with
both platforms equally, and if you use the exact same
program on both platforms, you should be able to
create the exact same graphics.

so... the big thing is, which platform are you most
comfortable with? I've always used a Mac for several
reasons:

1. I started out that way
2. For graphics, it seems to work harder and be able
to take more abuse than a PC
3. The majority of designers that I've ever worked
with use Mac
4. The amount of support in the industry for Mac
created graphics seems higher than for PC

anyway... these reasons only hold true assuming that
everything between a given PC and Mac (hardware and
software) is equal. If you have a PC with 1GHz
processor and 512MB of RAM and your mac happens to be
an old iMac, then don't waste your time loading up the
iMac with graphics programs. Use the PC. And if you
only have access to Paint Shop Pro for the PC but you
can get Photoshop for the Mac, get Photoshop for the
Mac... it's the better piece of software.

hope this helps,

Nick
