Hi David,
You might consider making a banner masthead, and using
a Gothic font. If you want to see examples for ideas,
look at:
International Herald Tribune

New York Times
http://www.nytimes.com
In terms of hard copy newspapers, Times Roman has been
a popular font for both headlines and body copy over
the years, as well as other serif faces. (As
mentioned previously, Georgia was designed more for
the Web.)
In terms of Web pages, computer presentations or
slides, many people suggest that sans serif is more
readable, such as Verdana, Arial and Helvetica.
Personally, I really like the Gothic banner mastheads,
and that is what makes me think of a newspaper. Hope
