The osCommerce software will work fine with just one page.  Yes, it is a bit
of overkill for your project, but that's not going to matter unless you have
disk space limitations that interfere with it. Even though you have a tiny
inventory, you can benefit from the administrative features of the solution
and the site's customers will not care whether there are 5 or 5000 items
when they check out as long as the system works.

The actual display page of the osCommerce cart can be modified to remove the
What's New and other sidebar boxes that might not be appropriate for such a
small store.

Of course the least hassle for the customer is first priority. Maybe
I have to make my question a bit more precise:

Is it, from your experience with oscommerce possible to use and
"downsize" oscommerce for a simple one page shopping cart?

I have used edatcat quite successfully. It is extremely flexible and
could be used for this project too; however edatcat is approximately
$450 and I don't think I can sell that package to my client who sells
only five items...
