Yes it really is a beta! Why are people suprised? It says it is a first
release beta....

I think it is a little soon to start authoring *for* Netscape 6. It is
clearly in BETA, and there will be changes made before it goes gold.
People who are using Netscape 6, know it is in BETA and a first look beta
at that. They are aware that things may not look as perfect as the
developer intended. Because most of these beta users are developers of
some kind.

Focus on making your sites as compliant as possible to the HTML/CSS/ETC
standards and they should look just fine in the finished version of
Netscape 6. I have been following the development of this product through
its mozilla lifetime and I think they are making a concerted effort to be
compliant...and if you have particular gripes about the way your code (that
you know is standard) renders... submit a bug report to Netscape. Thats
what the Alpha and Beta testing periods are for...fine tuning.

and on a side note.... I don't think this is the appropriate list to
discuss why Netscape stock went down. And there are like 5 different
Internet Providers who have a contract with Microsoft to be bundled with
windows. Like ATT World Net, if I remember correctly. and MSN of course.
