I am working on a web-based app that is for Microsoft IE 5.0 and higher
only (so this question is not relevent to Navigator, Opera, or any other
browser). We use window.open quite a lot to bring up pop-up informational
and data entry displays. We're getting reports back from clients that the
position these windows open at on screen is not always well-placed, and
they cannot spot any consistency (the placement is consitently
inconsistent).
Does anyone have any experience with the method that IE 5, 5.5, and/or 6
uses to position a window opened with window.open? I know that we can
move the window with moveTo, and we do that with a few large, select
windows, but I'd like a better understanding of the default screen
position.
TIA.
