Searching and copying within a page?by bobcornelissen(at)hetnet.nl |

Hi all, I am looking for a solution for a project I am working on, maybe some of = you can point me into the right direction here. On a website on our own server there is a webpage with a very long = table. I want to put up a search form near the top of the page where = people can fill in the word they are looking for. I need some kind of = script that searches through that same page for the word and somehow = copy the table row <tr> word </tr> surrounding that word and paste that = <TR> either to another page into an empty table or on the same page = somewhere. I have done many searches on searching :-) but I only come up with = search engines that give a link to a page it has found the word on.. and = I am already on that page...=20 Due to the changing table I can not put bookmarks everywhere in order to = try to jump to the place it finds the word. Also there are mostly more = rows where that word occurs, so I need the script to copy possibly a = number of rows and "write" them to another table on that page or on the = next page. I would think this could be done with some JavaScript or at most a CGI = script, but I am not strong enough in those languages to create one all = by myself. By the way, I do have access to the server so CGI is OK. Does anybody know of an existing script that can do this or is it easy = to make something like this? Please respond to my personal e-mail = bobcornelissen(at)hetnet.nl I appreciate your help, Bob Cornelissen bobcornelissen(at)hetnet.nl
