Actually, just stating my preference/opinion.  For the record, I'm 
not a professional web developer, or a computer professional of any 
other type.  Computers and related subject matter are my hobby, 
and I enjoy learning just about anything to do with them.  The little 
bit of web design that I do is based on the 800x600 res, since I'm 
aware of the issues you speak of.  My point was, I guess, that 
considering the power of the most generic video cards these days, 
it seems criminal to use 640x480 on a 19" monitor.  Also, my 
display (1280x1024) is only on a 17" monitor. ;-)
