>What the heck are deprecated tags? Old tags that are no longer part of the standard and that future browsers have 'permission' to stop supporting. Some well known ones:
<layer> (never was part of the standard to begin with)
through
(maybe deprecated, there's certainly no need for them.) All proprietary tags. All of this stuff is better dealt with using CSS. So, have any browsers stopped supporting any deprecated tags yet? Yes. Netscape 6 dropped all of the netscape specific tags of previous versions. Espect this to happen with future versions of IE as well. Eventually, perhaps in round 7 of the browsers; they will drop even the non-proprietary deprecated tags (heck, by the time we finally reach version 7 they might even drop HTML all together in favor of supporting XML only, depending on when it happens).
