specific criteria search within html pages

Hello

I've a large number of names and addresses over three webpages 
which are currently divided into A-Z, by location and by profession.

The pages are taking a long time to load now because of the 
amount of content and I'd like to have some sort of search facility 
where users can select through drop-down menus for example, all 
members in Wales, or all members in Wales who are accountants. 
  The member details would be kept in one place in a text file, 
database or something like that.

I've no idea where to start - can anyone help?
