Search engine usable on site on CDROM?

Small question. Anyone know of any freeware or GPL 
search engine that could be installed on and used from 
a web-site based on a CDROM? Preferably one that 
could be used on multiple platforms (including beyond 
Windows & Mac) without necessarily requiring the 
CDROM user install the engine app on their system. 
Something that could substitute for the search 
engine/indexing capabilities of a web server, using a 
similar CGI interface.
