Sorry, no offense intended, but you didn't specify that. I 
have no problems with popups for that purpose, although 
I think with a bit of script work, you can make the popup 
window come up just large enough to hold the picture 
and any associated page widgets without having to 
maximize the window unless your picture is that big.
