You don't have to use the junk, but you get no choice 
about installing it.

I tested NS7 on a machine here that already had AIM 
installed. Once NS7 installed, it became the NS-
branded AIM. After I uninstalled NS7, AIM quit working 
and I had to reinstall standard AIM.

NS7 is just an older version of Mozilla with added 
bloatware and junk.
