changing host sites

Hi all,

I am just starting to work on a site that has been up for a while with a 
particular hosting site. I plan to move the site to another host, however, 
I need help in doing that.

Unfortunately, I cannot get in touch with the original designer, so I don't 
know who he registered with.

I looked up the name and got the DNS address, but don't know where to go next.

Any ideas/suggestions?
