The whole idea of what I'm trying to accomplish is to *not show* any
vspace or hspace *if* the monitor res. is set to 600*800, *but* to show
it if the res. is *higher* than that: to float the image. So I sure don't
want to add vspace and hspace *universally*. Now, can I somehow use
wildcards in a frameset? I clearly can't use percentages, as that would
be applied universally and defeat the purpose of what it is I'm trying to
accomplish. Is there a way to tell the browser to proportion in equal
amounts above and below my image, any space beyond 600px of my
image?<br>

<dd>Hi;
<dd>One of my clients' home pages has a large graphic that fills up the
page in a standard 600*800 res. screen. He wants me to frame this graphic
and float it so that it's centered in higher res. screens. I'm trying
this code:
<dd><html><body>
<dd><table align=center valign=middle>
<dd><tr height=*></tr>
<dd><tr height=150><td><img
src="images/colors.gif"></td></tr>
<dd><tr height=*></tr>
<dd></table></body></html>
<dd>This makes the image center horizontally but not vertically. If I
make the first table row height equal to, say, 100, it does push the
image down. Why can't I use the wildcard? Is there another way around
this?
<dd>TIA,
