But you misread Gregor's question then because that's exactly what=20
Dreamweaver UltraDev will do (read and display SSI within the editor's=20
environment). In addition to that, UltraDev will parse ASP, JSP and Cold=20
Fusion code in another part of its editor called the Live Data window given=
=20
that one has a Web server such as the free PWS (or a full fledged IIS=20
server of course) or a Cold Fusion server (there's also a free limited=20
version of that) installed on their machine. Allaire HomeSite, which is my=
=20
primary Web editor, will also parse server side code through one of the=20
above mentioned Web servers with the help of something called server=20
mappings which First Page lacks and is exactly the reason I uninstalled it=
=20
within a an hour of trying it out (that and a slew of other features I've=20
come to depend on in HomeSite and UltraDev which are sorely lacking in=20
First Page). Sure, First Page is free but it won't do what Gregor and=20
Howard want and it's just not a robust enough developing environment for=20
me. Furthermore, Gregor asked for recommendations on a WYSIWYG editor=20
which First Page is not. That's why I didn't recommend HomeSite either=20
although it's my preferred editor and it basically does what was asked for=
=20
but only in Preview mode through the IE browser object. UltraDev is indeed=
=20
much more expensive than either FirstPage (or HomeSite for that matter) but=
=20
it's really a great developing tool and I'm learning to rely on it for more=
=20
and more things even though I'm a die hard code freak.
