Yep, and then have to maintain a whole bunch of 
separate pages. Or simply link to the image and let the 
browser display it, sans any navigation or information 
other than the browser's back button. In both cases, I 
think that Javascript in this case provides a better user 
experience, not "unnecessary overheard."

I don't waste my time with any or Norton's "security" 
products, but any pop-up blocker worth using should 
allow a pop-up when its user clicks on a link that brings 
up a pop-up. If it doesn't, its a pretty poor excuse for a 
pop-up blocker (especially if you had to pay for it!).

Might as well mention the small photo gallery I did 
around Christmas time on my personal web page:

Only the first 10 images actually have larger versions to 
display in the pop-up (ran out of disk space). And the 
pop-ups work in *my* pop-up blocker, The 
Proxomitron. ;-)
