Thank you everyone for your suggestions!  Especially Gary 
Krockover, his suggestion was the first I tried (since his was the first 
in my in box), and it worked.  Interestingly, I tried first just snipping 
the <br> but that still didn't work, but pasting his snippet of code into 
my HTML document (using Notepad, still my preferred design 
program) worked (yet the only difference between his code and 
mine was the lack of a <br> and the absolute link).  After changing 
the link from absolute to relative (which I still greately prefer), and 
getting rid of the "&nbsp" at the end (created by Dreamweaver), it 
still worked, so thank you, Gary!

You know, I'd really like to but, as I mentioned on this forum before,

Well, I wanted the colour of the blue to match the text, namely 
#0000d7, looks better that way in mine and the client's opinion.  
Can this be done in CSS?  The part about having it stretch across 
the screen intrigues me!
