This reminds me of a page I am currently working on for a client.  
The client is never happy with my work, because it "doesn't appear 
right" in his browser (whereas it looks fine on mine).  I point out that 
different computers show things differently, but he says that 
"potential customers could be viewing it, and I want them to see it 
the way I see it on my computer."  (Apparently, he believes that 
"potential customers"'s computers will also display pages the same 
way it shows on his.)  So, I pretty much have to "design blind".  (I 
recently sent him a screen shot of how it appears both at my 
computer here and at work (slightly different views, of coruse, being 
two computers), and have him work it out from there.

I'm not too concerned, thoguh,a s I charge by the hour, so every 
time I have to redo something because it doesn't appear like his 
computer is more money for me!  :)
