For me this is a /huge/ issue that has obviously confused me ever since I saw dhtml and went *oh, cool.*

Thank you Tim, Larry, Charles, PPK -- I'm sure if you've helped me as much as you have by this discussion, then there must be others who have learned as well.

Slowly, slowly, through repetition, I am beginning to get a vague idea of the DOM and your posts are getting me there.
