Hello List,
I've got a situation that's over my head. :) 7,000+ fonts on a server
where they are monitored by one person who makes sure that only what the
company has rights to use is there, and 100+ users who can access them
directly on the server, install them on their systems and use them.
Unfortunately, because there are so many of them, they aren't really USING
them. We have been requested to come up with an online method of displaying
the fonts so that users can visually browse through them and get an idea of
what they look like, then they can go to the server and download them for use.
I know how to install a font, create a gif of it, and then create a site
that would display said gifs, listing the fonts alphabetically. But I would
REALLY rather not go through and do that for all 7,000 fonts, not to
mention updating them as we gain or lose fonts from the server. Does anyone
have any tips on pointing me towards a less labor-intensive solution for this?
