Image button help...

I'm sure the answer to this question is in the archives.  But I've spent the last three days on this volunteer effort and have lost the ability to think, let alone search.

So, help, please, and please respond directly, as I'm on digest.

I inherited this site, for a local non-profit a little while back.  It was originally implemented, pretty nicely, actually, as:

www.hmb-aauw.org

by a local high school student.

I had concerns about having Flash buttons on the home page, especially because I don't have Flash installed on my laptop and the Flash made loading it a time-consuming mess for me. ...

So, I have ported this, so far, to:

Please excuse the very ugly buttons.  I will take another stab at them sometime when I am more awake.

Any other constructive criticisms would be gratefully accepted. 

Here are my questions:

1.  Can anyone suggest how I can get rid of that annoying square white border around the button that is down?

2.  Is there any way I can get the title to update when the frame changes?  (I spent a really long time trying to remove the frames from this site, but wasn't getting the update speed I wanted on the pages, so we are stuck with frames here.)
