I don't really know what makes a "professional" web designer, but it's sure
an interesting thought.
What makes a personal "professional" at anything ? ...the school of hard
knocks...IMHO
If you're a doctor or a lawyer and have a piece of paper that says you're
qualified to practice, then yes, technically, you're a professional. But,
until you have been out there in the cruel world of reality and earned your
stripes, all the pieces of paper in the world are not going to make you a
"professional".
Someone who has done the hard yards in learning all by themselves might be
streets ahead of someone that has spent money and time taking a course in
"how to do it"...it depends on the individual.
