May I make a comment on percents and Netscape (NN).
I have created tables and images in tables and have used percents
successfully in NN, both for 4+ and 6+.
They are tricky to use for NN, but the trick has been simple. Make whatever
percents in the table cells (td) you use, add up to 100%. Not 101%, not 99%
or less, but a full 100% within each cell of the top row. You can even mix
in pixel sizes, so long as percents still add up to 100%.
Because NN is finicky, Be sure to put either a 1x1 gif placer or a
placer or some appropriate text in those cells. And for NN6, be sure to
declare some sort of font size in your CSS, even if only images are going
into those cells (ie: td {font-size: 1px}).
This has worked well with me for my sites, and I have yet to hear of any
problem. I also tested them heavily with NN and various
computer/browser/monitor types, both of my own and my friends/associates.
