Any thought that web developers and sys admins start getting together and 
suggesting to those who pay for upgrades that it is not in the company's 
technical and economic interests to upgrade to WinXP?

This may be late, but why not a techies grassroots effort to to not upgrade 
to WinXP?  After all, Linux and Apache can do all (and more) that a WinXP 
server can do, but without the bitter aftertaste.
