>From HTML 4.01 spec, clause 15.2.1 Font style elements: the TT, I, B, BIG,
SMALL, STRIKE, S, and U elements:
"TT: Renders as teletype or monospaced text."
The difference between PRE (which usually also renders text in a monospaced
font) and TT elements is that while PRE may preserve white space (spaces,
carriage returns) and may disable the browser's automatic word wrap, TT does
not. Neither element is deprecated.
