Date-Time Stamp

Hi everybody-
 
I have a problem-- it's really stumped me and seems pretty simple.
 
I have a form-driven database that users will be submitting data through each 
day, thus I need to have the Date and Time of the submission stored in the 
database with the rest of the info.
 
Any ideas?  I am looking for a cgi/pl script for this..
