Chuck, is there a particular benefit towards having 'end slashes' for <img>,
<br>, <hr>, etc.?

I've just started seeing some of them crop up and I was wondering what the
point of them was.

Peter, don't listen to them. Don't close your table tags, don't close your
paragraph tags, and whatever you do, don't start putting in end slashes for
your image, br, hr and other tags that don't have natural closing tags. Oh,
and don't bother matching the case of your start and stop tags. You don't
need CSS, and you sure as heck don't need XML. Long live HTML 3.2!

Oh, and could you post a list of your current customers? ;)

Once again, I ask for an example of this.  Not vague generalizations, but
actual snippets of valid code which fails miserably in both major browsers.
