Last month, out of about 6,000 visits, I had one that was on Win 3.x.

Default fonts GUARANTEED to be on Windows systems (if you include Win 3.x)
would be:

Arial, "Times New Roman", and "Courier New".

When I specify fonts in my style sheets, I usually use the following
cascades:

Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif

Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif

Of course, you can add any font names you like at the start of your font
list, since the browser will just go down the list until it finds one it
has. So you could specify:

Palatino, Caslon, Garamond, Georgia, Bookman, "Century New Schoolbook",
"Times New Roman", Times, serif

if you wanted. :)
