Thanks. Someone else suggested putting the text in a table cell and using
nowrap. Since the text is already in a table cell, nowrap was the perfect
solution for me.

I believe that they claim "nobr" is deprecated but it still works in IE5 you
might also try using css maybe <span
style="white-space:nowrap;">this-that</span>
however I haven't tested that.
