Yes, your site logs should show this increase. If your logs are set up
correctly, they would also show the Referring page (which should be the site
where you purchase the banner).

All your banner ads should point to unique pages on your site. That way, you
can look in your stats and see actual hits to those pages (and the IPs they
are from).

I have a client that has been buying into banner ads.  It seems, that once
paid for, the banners are supposedly shown, and the money is gone in
a day.  When checking THEIR stats, it shows banner exposed 35,000 times
and 1,500 click throughs.  Now, I am not really savvy on the banner ad
things,
but wouldn't their site stats also reflect a huge increase in hits at this
period
of time too?  Because we use two different stats counters, along with what
their server has, and the numbers just are not there.  They claim that in a
matter
of two days 1500 click throughs happened.  But they have not even had a
third
of that in visitors for the month.  So is this a scam you think?

One company showed hits, from their own site only, and it ate up the money
with in one hour.  That one we are convinced they have their own people
sitting there clicking through on the links themselves, and racking up the
charges.

Anyone else had any experience with these services?  I know one of the FREE
banner links, when there where click throughs, it showed on my stats.
