Because the "cross browser" menu script is not cross browser.  Also, it's
major over-kill.  The actual JS to do the menus runs into hundreds of lines
of code, as well as requiring a "cross browser library" which is almost the
same length.  This is mainly because the script is packed with features that
you are most unlikely to put to use.  If you wrote the script yourself, you
could do it in a tenth of the space.

you're probably correct Tim, BUT using me as a sterling example ... I don't
*know* how to write JS!!  I like what the navigation bar looks like: one
primary color, highlight color on main choice, new color for drop down, new
highlight color for dropdown choice.  I can't write a script like that, but
that's what I want!  I have tried this script and realize that it works
flawlessly under NN but if one moves the mouse over the menu items to
quickly in IE, more than one dropdown menu will be simultaneously revealed.
IF you're feeling particularly adventurous, perhaps you might want to write
a script like that with 1/10th the coding?  I would be thrilled to use it
AND give you all the credit!!!  ;o}
