Hi,
I am taking an HTML class at our local community college. For my final exam
I have to create a webpage that will fit on a floppy and turn it in. Certain
things are required (CSS, java, sound, frames, etc.) I decided to display
part of my antique postcard collection. I have this one picture of the old
Eads bridge across the Mississippi River which I scanned and used it with a
free lake.class applet that I downloaded from a site. The image worked fine
with the webpage when I had everything on my zip drive using Explorer. When
I moved it to the floppy, the image would not show. I signed up for a
webpage on Xoom to see how it would work on the net. It does not work in
Explorer. I tried it in Netscape and that does work only the webpage looks a
lot better in Explorer. I get a message - Load class lake missing. I ftp'd
the lake.class up using binary several times along with the image thinking
that could be the problem. I am confused as to why this works on Explorer on
a zip disk and not on the floppy or internet.
I also have a sound question. When the webpage opens the sound file
(steamboat horn) I have embedded sounds real choppy. Is there a way to delay
the sound until everything else has loaded?
Thanks again,
Paulette
