Does Netscape support a background in a cell? - not quite sure...

If not: nest a second table in there and put the background in the Table tag
itself.

Can anybody tell me why the following doesn't appear as I expect under
Netscape....

  <tr>

    <td width="96%" background="title-mid.gif"> </td>
    <td width="2%"><img border="0" src="title-right.gif" width="155" height=

  </tr>
</table>

The middle section, where a GIF is used as a background, appears blank.
