What I did up til now was just backup the entire directory with the Outlook
data (in Windows - Application Data - ...) and same with the .wab address
book.  Then when I format, I install Outlook, start it up, make sure I
create some entry in the address book, close it down and copy the whole
stuff that I backed up to the new system (same place).  You then rename the
address book to the login name of windows (Click start - you see Log out
..., you need the name) if this is different.  And hups, start Outlook, no
complaints wheter, everything's there. (except for email account settings,
still have to go and look for that one somewhere when I have the time).
Hope this helps, hope Win2000 will work like that too.

I have a client who is trying to move Microsoft Outlook Expres Email, from a
Windows 98 machine, onto a Windows 2000 machine, to Outlook Express.  We
have been unsuccessful in getting it to import or export properly.

Each time we ask it to import it, it gives us an error and says the program
is either running or some other lame excuse.

Is there and issue with email that is from a 98 machine going to a Win2000
machine?  I assumed it would import it.  Anyone have any experience with
this?
