Such a page gives in impression as if the speed is VERY low.  If the entire
page is in a table, the screen remains blank until everything is downloaded
(except image files).

Here is a comparison:

both are 107kB.

MIND!!!! these examples are only valid for Netscape pre-6.0 and IE 5.0
(don't know about 5.5).  Gecko-based prowsers (Mozilla and NS 6) have
implemented a table predictor that renders tables on-the-fly, so before the
end table tag is reached.  This, however, causes bad rendering in situations
where the last of the rows/cells cause a change in the appearance, for
example if the last cell has a nowrap and a very large content.  It will
cause alteration of previously rendered cells.  It seems to be very hard to
combine the best of both worlds.

CC'd to techniques, because I think it will learn some people they shouldn't
put a heavy page in a table.
