I would say that someone that you know or maybe not.. may actually have the
virus and the virus, on their end, is causing the problems.  It may be able
to tell when you have checked, read or deleted messages from your Inbox and
send another batch of 10 or whatever...

-- If this is really the case, I suggest you delete the messages while
trying to NOT send the 'read' notification.  To do this, either stay offline
while deleting them and then check your outbox for the notifications and
delete them.  I think there's also a way to disable the feature in your
mailprogram.

At this point, I'd update you virus
definitions in your software and scan your system.  Whatever you do, just
delete the messages as they come in and then don't forget to delete them
from your trash can/deleted file as well.  If you have web-based access to
your mail, you could view and delete them there that way you wouldn't have
to worry about downloading them to your machine, etc....
