Following the many practical examples in the css-footer thread I once more
came across many 3-column layouts that didn't really work (100%).  Some
pointed out they wanted NN4 compatibility (which many don't offer), other
mentioned not being able to click certain links (this is because the z-index
is set 'wrong' for certain browsers - sometimes a direct consequence of the
techniques used).

I've done some effort recently in making a validating page that works
*about* as well in all browsers I tested (IE6, NS4, Moz 1.x, NS7.0).  Plus
it validates as 4.01 strict.  I've not made the css 100% validating (without
any alerts) because I wanted to display only those things relevant to the
layout.

I'm sure someone will point out in NS4 there is a margin at the right AND
will come up with a solution.  In fact, I didn't look into this particular
thing at all because I don't have an image or other content that needs to
sit next to the scrollbar (or just right side).  My background image will
conceal any white space perfectly.
